Totem of Connection
original 18"x24" watercolor on 140lb paper
This painting was created for a retreat we had in Charleston with the same month it was created. I connect and I see images and hear messages that are relevant for not only the retreat attendees, the message is timeless. It represents the pathway of being. It begins with having a foundation of stillness, the whale. To be in flow with our feelings and stay in flow not holding on to anything, experiencing the joy of it. Staying in the now. As you cultivate this you become aware of your energy and as you choose love it begins to nurture the soil for new things to grow. Our expression of this is following our childhood dreams (heron) and being weird and authentic. It is physically becoming aware of the divinity in all living things, rocks, bugs, trees, etc..Balancing this with the energy of the crow. Nothing is as it seems. There is magic everywhere. As you master all these areas you will be able to manifest reality itself. The crow also masters darkness. The crow holds a blue ball which is all about the throat chakra. Feeling safe within the world, that the world supports your authentic self, because you do. Do you know who you are? How do you feel about things? Have you really become still with yourself to know? Have you looked at your darkness and understand it and choose to love it anyways? This is a cyclical process, with the crow begins the whale, again and again. There is power in these symbols and much to learn.
